Dujon Taekwondo Testimonials
Please see the latest testimonial from a former student:
I was a former student of Master Dujon and trained under him for 8 years. I started my training after completing karate. Under Master Dujon training and guidance, I was able to work hard, through perseverance and skills taught to me, I obtained my first Dan black belt.
I competed in two tournaments during my time with Master Dujon, resulting in trophies in katas and sparring.
With the training I received from Dujon Taekwondo, I gained many skills and self-confidence and applied them to other facets of my life. I completed my undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of London, and was admitted into the Electrical Engineering program for a Master's degree at Stanford University in California.
Following the completion of my Master’s degree, I went from strength to strength, joining an Aerospace corporation where I worked on numerous satellite and spacecraft programs, ranging from commercial ventures to NASA missions exploring asteroids. Most recently, I played an integral role in the development for spacecraft delivery to the International Space Station (ISS) as a NASA contractor. In that role, I worked with real astronauts and flight controllers that worked on the Space Shuttle and fly the ISS.
In the last five years, I competed in two tournaments, practising the Dujon Taekwondo way of
sparring with confidence, strategy, and flair, leading to multiple victories and championships in the county and state.
Dujon Taekwondo has had a positive influence on my life and continues to run strong in each endeavour I undertake.
I can’t imagine what my situation would be right now if I hadn’t dropped in on one of Dujon Taekwondo’s classes all those years ago.
I was 14 when I joined the club and I remember the pool of talent I witnessed first hand from both the teacher and the students. Not only that, but the attention to detail of Master Dujon’s teaching was undeniably unmatched. I was instantly attracted to the traditional WTF style of Taekwondo and watching Dujon Taekwondo club train and spar was enough to get me to join.
As a teenager, I needed to keep myself occupied and not go down the wrong path as I could have so easily done. Training Taekwondo with Dujon TKD gave me a purpose and a reason to keep training. I also used to suffer from asthma, and by persisting on training twice every week, I was able to train without an inhaler within six months. Something that I was never able to do before.
I was also given the opportunity to compete in several intense WTF sparring competitions over the years and thanks to the high level of care and teaching provided by Master Dujon, I was able to come home with a medal each and every single time.
It’s vital that I speak on how a club such as this one has had so much of an influence on my personal and career life also.
I began training with Dujon TKD around the same time as I discovered my other passion which was magic. It all fell into place at the right time as I was able to apply what I learnt from Master Dujon to my everyday ambitions and goals.
My career has taken me around the world from the rich lifestyle of Monaco to the desert in Dubai. I’ve been very fortunate enough to experience a lifestyle that I enjoy living whilst chasing my dreams. I’ve performed at 2 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix as well as last year’s Monaco Grand Prix. I was also performing on stage at the world renowned Armani Hotel at the Burj Khalifa, Dubai before doing a show in Marrakesh. I’ve appeared on the cover of the Harrow People which reaches 100,000 people. These are a few experiences that I have been able to live through and none of these would have been possible without Master Dujon. When I started training back in 2008, my confidence was at an all time low. My general health was unstable and I almost certainly had no skills in communicating with people. Through consistent training and learning from a truly great mentor, I was able to transform into the person that I wanted to be!
Fast forward to 2016, and my career and personal life are both heading in a positive direction. I owe a lot of credit not just to the club but Master Dujon as well. What started out as a need to put something down on my UCAS form, turned into a passion fuelled by my fellow Martial Artists and our teacher.
The club’s ethos on practising traditional Martial Arts and helping its students to succeed in all aspects of their lives is a rare one to find. I am forever grateful and indebted to Dujon Taekwondo. I take everything that I have been taught in the hope of inspiring and influencing the next generation just as I was.
